Another Weapon for Healthy Living

Power up in the morning

Another weapon for living healthy is the smoothie. I know that many people have sworn by these things for a long time but I have just become a new customer of the smoothie.

I had mentioned to my wife a few times that I thought I would like to get one of those Ninja blenders and try some smoothies. Unknown to me she decided to get me one for my birthday since I am notorious for not knowing what I want. So she surprised me with it and I decided that I would start making a smoothie breakfast that would be fast for me and nutritious.

It has been a week now and I have decided that I feel much better than I did just a week ago. I have more energy and my stomach bothers me much less than it did before. (undiagnosed IBS and/or food allergies).

I have also decided that I will publish one recipe a week on here so that I can share my success with others. I will keep those recipes a week behind me so that I am not publishing any that I have not tried myself. So join me each week here to try each new smoothie and we will drink ourselves to a healthier lifestyle together.

New 3-D printing method creates complex micro objects

Technological advancements are amazing to me and sometimes a little scary. I feel like my Grand Mother and Grand Father must have felt watching a new television or riding in a car when they were first invented.
Tony R

Bioengineers from the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science have developed a new method of 3-D printing that allows production of complex micro-scale objects smaller than the width of a human hair. The technique, using patterned ultraviolet light and a custom-shaped flow of polymer material, creates 3-D objects that can be first designed with software

My Darling, I’ll Forever Wait For You.

Very heart felt words in a deep poem that anyone who has ever wanted a child of their own can relate to.

Jennifer Calvert Author

This poem, lies close to my heart. Even as I write this, tears fall down my cheeks.

This is a part of me, an honest and true feeling of dealing with infertility and the heartbreak that comes with it.

To my daughter, my love.

I lie in waiting,
In hopeless sleep,
In nightmares and screams,
In tears and falling leaves,
In fear of never meeting you,
Of living my life without you,
I dream of your little fingers, wrapped in my own,
Of green eyes and blonde curls,
Talcum powder and milky breath,
And in my fear,
I forget myself,
I lose my way,
The days are always clouded,
The skies forever grey,
The rain drips down on my face,
In cold shallow wake,
And in all of this heartache and longing,
My heart I know is true,
You are my destiny,
Destined to be,
My darling, I’ll forever wait…

PRAYERWALKING: Taking Your Prayers On The Road

This is one of the best ideas that I have heard in a long time. I am thinking of getting a group in our community to start doing this. Why don’t you do the same?

Prayer Walking

friends walkingThere are many facets to prayer. During the month of November we will spotlight a few of them.

Today’s topic: Prayerwalking

All over the world, God is helping Christians to pray as they walk through the streets of their communities. The idea of prayerwalking through your community is to allow your prayers to extend beyond your own concerns, focusing on the needs of others, while opening yourself to see them with God’s eyes and heart.

Prayerwalking is simply taking our prayers to the very places we desire to see God’s presence manifested.

Another way to put is: Praying on sight with God’s insight.

Prayerwalks are taken by individuals, groups and even whole churches. They can be as short as one block or as long as many miles. The idea is to use the five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—to enhance the intercessor’s (those praying) understanding of prayer needs.
